Having just introduced our new Homelodge Garden Studio to our range we were very keen to ‘show-case’ it as soon as possible and following on from the success of our stand at Grand Designs in 2009 we decided to exhibit it for the first time at Grand Designs 2011.
The Homelodge Studio was designed, in part, to comply with the latest changes to planning regarding height of buildings and their proximity to a boundary. This lodge’s highest point is 2.5m which means the building can be placed closer than 2m to a boundary without (in most cases) the requirement for a planning application. This leads to the Studio being ideal for the Urban garden with a raft of uses, such as: Garden office, Garden Studio or Study, Kids playroom or den etc, and because of its bespoke design flexibility we can add facilities to enable it to be used as Gym or even as an occasional guest annexe.
Normally our Lodges are transported to site in panel form to be put together in situ; for the show we constructed the Lodge in our yard with the completed Lodge transported to London ExCel on the back of our 40’ flat bed lorry and craned it into position.
The show was even better than 2009 with very good attendance. Our display was voted as being one of the Top Ten Stands by Tradex Magazine which we are very proud of.
